With an Associate of Arts from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and a Bachelors of Arts from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, Dee entered the kitchen and bathroom industry in 1974 in Newport News, Virginia. In 1983 she relocated to Northern Virginia and achieved her CKD in 1985 and her CBD in 1991. Throughout her career, Dee has been an active member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) both locally and nationally. She served as Chapter President, Chapter Representative and on the National Board of Directors for three consecutive years. Dee has also been on the Kitchen and Bath Advisory Board for Virginia Tech University since 1992. She was recently inducted to the NKBA Baltimore Washington Chapter Hall of Fame for her dedication to the industry and the association. Additionally, Dee has taught consumer classes in Kitchen and Bathroom Design for Fairfax County from 1988 to 2010. She is an award-winning designer both locally thru the Metro DC Chapter of NARI and Nationally, most recently receiving the Best Outdoor Kitchen for SubZero / Wolf Corp. She has been published or quoted in The Washingtonian, Coastal Living, Plumbing and Mechanical Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Publications, Signature Kitchens Magazine, The Washington Post newspaper, and has had six segments on the Home and Garden Channel ‘Joan Koan Show’. Dee and her staff take your ideas and needs and incorporates them into innovative designs to achieve the best use of your space; whether it is the existing size or modified by moving walls or openings.
