PTSD is tough, god bless!
June is PTSD Awareness Month — and I want to speak to the people who don't think this applies to them.
PTSD doesn't always look like flashbacks or panic attacks. In high-achieving professionals, it looks like perfectionism that never feels like enough. Hypervigilance disguised as preparedness. An inability to rest even when life is objectively safe.
Workaholism. Emotional numbness. Chronic anxiety.
Your nervous system doesn't know the difference between then and now. It's still protecting you from something that already happened.
Healing doesn't begin with "What's wrong with me?"
It begins with "What happened to me?"
