Thursday June 12th we noticed lights diming, as big as a power surge when the clothes dryer was started, didnt think much about it, unplugged & pulled the dryer out though there might be a problem with it. Chanda went upstairs and called me, said something smelt burnt. after searching attic and all the rooms found a surge suppressor that smelt fried. got that taken care of, a bit later she started the microwave, and lights dimmed again. at this point i started flipping off breakers down to 1 circuit and had a toaster oven on it, everything off but this 1 circuit turned on the oven with a meter in the receptacle and it went from 125 to 89 volts. now i know we have a bigger problem. pulled cover off meter can, checked all connections and they were all good. so at this point i call REA, explain to the lady in dispatch what's going on and she told me "We can come out and check it" by now it was 6pm or after. assuming it was a neutral problem, but still concerned it was on my end, knowing I had eliminated all possibilities. see photos they speak for themselves. A BIG shout out to Rusk County Electric Cooperative for coming out quick and solving a unforeseen problem.... Thank you....
