A tiny project for my new baby granddaughters nursery. It was a dark stained table from The Bombay Co. and not suitable for this precious little flower girl. Now I need to go back and throw on a couple coats of Dixie Bells’ Gator Hide to protect it from moisture that might drip from a bottle or glass. I’m always learning new things! ♥️

I haven’t posted or painted in a long time. It felt good to pick up the brush again. A roadside find vanity was the perfect piece to transform and try out some new techniques. Color blending, mold making and gold leafing to name a few. The blending became the most challenging for me. I so admire my mentors on YouTube who make this look easy!
It became a labor of love and learning, to be gifted to my 4 year old twin granddaughters, who by the way have a mermaid inspired room. The last pic is the before pic.

Then came the crafting of the mobile and the names on the wall. All fun stuff for me. I decoupaged scrapbook paper onto the letters and used a nail file to remove the excess. Gluing paper flowers and sticking butterflies to the wall, bought on Amazon, completed the the wall above the crib.

I found this dresser and the armoire at the Habitat for Humanity Re-store. I love finding unique pieces like this one. My goal for this nursery suite is to re purpose as many decorative furnishings as possible. I’ve always wanted to paint a dresser green. It’s hardware was a huge plus. I cleaned them by soaking them in red wine vinegar and scrubbing them with an old toothbrush.

The girls armoire was slightly more challenging. I turned this from a country pine to a French looking piece by adding all the detail embellishments. Decoupaged wrapping paper on the inside as well.
