THANK YOU so much to everyone who came out and supported at Vintage Market Days. It was so much fun to see everyone! I think this was the biggest and best vintage market EVER. Thank you for such an amazing event and for doing your best to follow covid restrictions while giving us all a moment to feel normal and have some fun. “GIDDY”: joyfully elated, euphoric, excited to the point of disorientation...
..that’s what I get when I find a piece like this! ORIGINAL, UNTOUCHED, OLD, AUTHENTIC, LOCAL, ANTIQUE...I am so excited!!!
I can’t believe I found this amazing piece of history. This beautiful Pie Safe/Canning Cupboard came form an old, long gone, local orchard that was one mile from my house. Oh the history this piece holds. The fruit it held, the pies that were baked and placed here. From a time when Highland was the farmlands it started out as. Oh I wish I could go back in time with this piece and see her at her prime.

Even more, I want to see her being built, piece by piece...the hand made pins and tails of the dove tail joints, hand planing the wood, handmade dowel joints, pounding the square nails with an old hammer. The pride of a piece well built.

She has it all...Dove Tail Joints, Square Nail Heads, Pine Plank Backing, Wood Latch, Jar Stains, Old Lids, Spill Stains, Natural Crackling, Original Hardware and the Original Mesh Screen with 2 tiny holes...a life lived

If this piece could talk, the stories it could tell...

I can’t wait to see what I do with her. She needs some love. But she will be restored to amazing...🌸

Just finished this gorgeous farmhouse console/entry/sofa table. I’m loving the scallop cutout details and leaving the legs unpainted really made this beauty pop. Such a great piece to work with.🌸

I’m in love...this piece, this color, this transformation...I remember being so excited when I found this and knew it could be brought back to life. I restored it to it’s original beauty and thought it was good to go...but that wasn’t to be...and here we are ...and isn’t it lovely!!!💕🌸

I LOVE how this piece turned out. I took her from a bohemian rhapsody to her restored classic beauty. I used BB Frösch paint transformer mixed with Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black and sealed her with Verathane water based sealer. I’m glad we decided to keep the paper backing inside. It really pops and gives it a playful side. I stripped the hardware and repainted them Antique Brass. This was such a great transformation and a fun piece to work on. 🌸
(And apologies for the lack of staging-but this thing is a beast and going straight back to my client!)
