Carpet Cleaning Tip: Removing Red Kool-Aid Stains

Red drink stains like Kool-Aid can permanently dye carpet fibers if they’re not handled the right way. Here’s a professional tip you can try with caution:

What you’ll need:
✔ Yellow household ammonia
✔ All-white towel only (no colors at all)
✔ A warm iron (not hot)

How it works:

Fold the white towel several times and place it over the red stain

Lightly apply ammonia to the towel — never directly to the carpet

Using a warm iron, gently press the towel

The heat helps pull the red dye up and into the towel

⚠️ Important Safety Notes:
• Ammonia has a strong odor — wear a mask and ventilate the room
• Keep kids and pets out of the room during this process
• Do not overheat the carpet — pressing too long can damage fibers
• Always test a small hidden area first
