Trash to treasure.

Four or five years ago, I was on a walk around the block and saw a table on the curb a neighbor was throwing away (see final picture).

When I saw it was solid white oak, I stashed it in my garage waiting to find the right project.

It sure made for a nice butcher block top for this kitchen cart.

The first finished project from wood slabs salvaged from a shop fire at L&S Custom Sawmill and Wood Work.

Hopefully this gives some hope to those going through tough times. There’s good that can come from bad, just keep grinding, routing, planing, scraping, sanding, etc. Then put some finish on it.
