The before looked almost like a shadow of a painting, dark, flat, most of the detail lost somewhere under decades of grime and aged varnish.

After cleaning and restoration, Henry Clay has stepped back into the light. You can see the blue in his eyes, the color in his coat, even the texture of that walking cane he's holding. Details that were there the whole time, just waiting to be uncovered.

If you've got a piece you've been meaning to bring in, now's the time.

Restoration takes real time, cleaning, repairs, refinishing, drying time between coats. It's not something we rush, especially on pieces with detail worth doing right. Once the holiday season hits, our schedule fills up fast with people wanting pieces ready in time for hosting, gifting, or just having the house pulled together.

Bring it in now, and it'll be ready with plenty of time to spare. Wait until November, and you might be waiting until after the holidays instead.

August has a way of turning into "let's finally clean out the garage" season.

Before you haul everything to the curb or donate it without a second look, take one more pass through. That old dresser shoved in the corner. The chair with the broken cane seat. The trunk you forgot was even back there. Some of it might be worth more than you think, not in dollars, but in what it could become with a little work.

We'd rather see it restored than tossed.

This Fairbanks scale is over 100 years old, hand lettered gold lettering, cast iron wheels, a build quality you just don’t see today. We weren’t about to let a piece like this fade away.

This headboard has carried a lot of history, and it deserved to look like it again.

The before shows all that carved detail buried under scratches, dull finish, and years of wear. The kind of piece people walk past at an estate sale because it looks tired, not because it's not worth saving.

After restoration, every scroll and detail in that carving is sharp again. Rich, deep finish, ready for another lifetime in someone's bedroom.

Pieces like this are why we do what we do. The craftsmanship was always there, it just needed someone to bring it back.

Chinoiserie like this doesn't come around often, and it deserves to be treated right.

These two pieces came to us needing that black lacquer and gold detail brought back to life. Hand painted scenes like these take patience, one wrong move and you lose the character that makes them valuable.

The 127 Yard Sale runs right through Kentucky, and somewhere along that route is a piece with your name on it.

Maybe it needs new hardware. Maybe the finish is tired, or a leg's a little loose. None of that means it's not worth bringing home.

We see pieces like that every week, and every week we watch them come back to life.

So dig through the piles. Check under the tables. If something catches your eye, grab it. We'll take it from there.

This portrait has been waiting a long time to be seen clearly again.

Years of grime and yellowed varnish had settled into the canvas, dulling the colors and hiding the detail in his face, his hands, even the gold watch chain. You can see it in the before, that hazy, almost foggy look old paintings get over time.

After cleaning and careful restoration, he's sharp again. The blue eyes, the color in his cheeks, the texture in that jacket, all of it was there the whole time, just buried.

This is why we always say don't give up on an old piece before you've had someone look at it. Sometimes it just needs someone to peel back the years.

This teak set sat outside for yeaaaarrrrrsssss. Most people would've thrown it out. We brought it back to life.

Teak silvers over time because of sun and moisture. That gray color makes people think the wood is done. It's not. Underneath, it's still solid.

A little sanding and oil, and this set has another 15 years in it.
