I used a variety of salvaged wood for this long tv stand. Some maple cabinet parts, decorative plywood and cedar for the top. It was done in a chevron design and waterfalled ends. Cedar was also used for the design on the door (woohoo, the funnest part of the project). Then finished it off with adjustable metal legs.

I’m calling this one a “what not cabinet”. It could be used in any room. I built it from louvered closet doors and used lathe strips on the top. The crate drawers were made from louvers and I used jalousie glass in the door. I also lined the inside with cedar.

Another flooring project. I used parquet flooring to make this cabinet. Gold spray paint and frost was used to get the design on the glass doors. Then I finished it off with some fun legs.

This rustic wood bench is actually engineered wood flooring. The top side of the flooring is beautiful dark wood flooring….big yawn. So I flipped it over and found this rustic wood design, much more interesting!

After rescuing these 2 solid maple cabinet doors from the dumpster, I built a pair of side tables for them. As usual, I started with louvered closet doors for the sides. Solid oak for the tops and oak shelving for the inside. More louvers were inserted in the doors, on the diagonal. Then the design was created with paint and stains.

I had just enough cedar shutter slats to make this sliding door console/entertainment center. Reclaimed oak shelving was used for storage on the inside. But it wasn’t complete until I added the design on the top using…you guessed it…closet door louvers.

Another cabinet that I didn’t have a clear vision for the end product. Like most of my projects, it just evolves as I work on it, using materials that I have available. This one is a combination of closet door parts, lathe strips, and a lot of cedar scraps.

Just another console made from reclaimed materials. I used up a lot of scraps making the design in the bottom shelf. Then painted it a very dark navy blue.

This piece started as an upper kitchen cabinet. I rarely repurpose but this dumpster find was solid wood and, of course, free. It didn’t have doors so I built the frames from 1 x 2’s then finished the centers with slats cut from 2 x 4’s. I also used the slats to cover the outside so I could paint on this waterfall design. Finally I added the southwest style legs and distressed it lightly.

This cabinet is the result of having a lot of small scraps that you just can’t throw out. I started with a basic rectangle and used the small pieces to fill it with cubbies and drawers. The stencils dress it up and make it a unique one of a kind piece.

I started this console cabinet with a panel bi-fold closet door, that I cut in half, for the end panels. Lathe strips cover the plywood top and closet door louvers were used to make the crate drawers. Finished it off by hanging this mosaic wood piece on the rail for the sliding door.

This bench started as a broken dining chair. I couldn’t toss it because there was nothing wrong with the legs. I used plywood for the top and covered it with lathe slats. Paint and stain was used to make the pattern. Then I added a shelf for storage. It’s sturdy enough to sit on but pretty enough to keep in your front entry.
