Upholstery 5762 Saving homeless pieces of furniture, giving them new life and sending them back out into society, one chair at a time.

Hello, My name is Lisa and I own Upholstery 5762. My business is housed in my little old one room schoolhouse. I have been collecting interesting pieces of furniture for quite some time to make them useful once again. I had the opportunity to purchase a local mans Upholstery supplies. I sold my former business of which I owned for 20yrs. (The Village Stitchery) and jumped head first into my new bu

siness. Still working with my hands and incorporating the two businesses into one I plan on providing the best job to my ability with the sight set on the detail. I enjoy helping the customer choose the right fabric for their piece, With multiple fabrics to choose from, We together create a decorator's eye to the piece that will forever be an heirloom in their home. My Motto ~ taking homeless pieces of furniture, giving them new life and sending them back out into society... one chair at a time.

Sleeper Sofa: I very seldom reupholster a sofa. I never reupholster sleeper sofas. But... in this case the client had removed the sleeper prior to bringing it in. THAT.... I will do. Elisabeth chose Charlotte Fabrics. CB800-177 Cream/green This contemporary designed sofa is clean and neat in its design. Back to Montgomery it goes to wait for its first guests.

Family Heirlooms: The richness and textures are absolutely gorgeous in these two pieces. Tom and Stefanie had these two heirloom pieces in storage. They decided it was time to have them reupholstered in fabrics to give their home some visual interest. The fabrics they chose compliment each other well. The same colors are in both fabrics. Tom Chose 100%Wool Highland Sky by Wooded River Inc. The outside contrasting fabric is Charlotte Fabrics, D4150 Jungle (which emulates a green suede) Stefanie Chose Anna Elizabeth Fabrics S7216 Document Floral. Both pieces were a joy to work with. I enjoyed bringing both back to life. The Plaid required a lot more work in the detail, thinking and over thinking each piece before I went onto the next step. Enjoy all of the photo's. I had so much fun working on them that I will miss their beauty in my room. Thank you Tom and Stefanie. Tom, Cheers!

Ohhhhh I do love a plaid…. And especially this blend of colors.

I have no problem tearing down a piece of furniture. But when you get one that has been ‘reupholstered’. By a previous upholsterer who took short cuts, Not removing old staples and tacks. Not properly webbing the seat springs and padding over old horse hair, old cotton with layers of new. It becomes a long dirty process. Once I remove everything this chair will be 10lbs lighter.

Chair and a half: A chair and a half is an oversized chair that you could sit in all curled up alone. Share it with a grandchild or perhaps just a big bag of popcorn... whatever be your desire. It's just shy of being a love seat. When working on one of these I think I need 'a half person to help flip and lift' Putting it on its side to attach the side panels is little 5'3" of me standing on a step stool to reach it comfortably. But... it's finished. Its comfy and cozy and it's in Selinsgrove. Fabric: United Fabrics Bisou-48-Olive and Sadie-26-Dunegrass grim. Thank you Heather!

Joe and Judy's favorite chairs: Joe loves his chair so much that he sits in it each morning with his coffee to read the newspaper. Their one complaint was the seat cushions had down feathers that poked through and then it made the cushions hang out over the front of the chair. Another complaint was both chairs had torn in the exact same spot. The original design the whole inside of this chair was 3 sewn in pieces (inside arms and back) then putting stress on the seams when they would sit. I told them that there was a way I could redo the chair so it was not that same design. I also thought to give it a little more character it lent itself to some buttons. The original outside fabric they had chosen was a colorful abstract that was no longer available. So plan B went into place. They wanted to also keep the back to back tacks all around the chairs. 700+ tacks later and they're finished! Judy wanted some decorative pillows for her sofa in contrasting fabrics. Thank you Joe and Judy!!! Enjoy your morning coffee's! Fabric from United Fabrics Ruby-Cherry Cola and Charlotte Fabrics CB800-160.

Takin Care of Business: It's a taking care of Business time. I was asked by two businesses in Lewisburg if I would be interested in reupholstering their pieces. Absolutely!!! In this case a Union County Office will be sporting some new charcoal fabric for their 6 seating chairs. The Cushions are going to a Coffee Shop in Lewisburg. A relocation of this business means a new look! Once this business is settled in I should have a better photo. They both chose their fabrics from United Fabrics.

Mid Century Swivel Chairs x2: I have said it before. I haven't met a swivel chair I didn't like. This set was bought a couple years ago from an Antique dealer in our town. This client has been wanting to have them reupholstered as the vinyl just kept splitting from years of use. The fabric is Soundtrack-78-Steller from United Fabrics. With a much more kinder fabric this will give the swivel chairs many more years of use. Thank you Stephanie!
