Sometimes all you need is a statement piece with oodles of history and super cool wood grain! This 15 piece German Knockdown Cabinet is from the late 1700’s and we wouldn’t change a thing!

It’s been along time since I did ‘Fifty Shades of Gray’ on this Jacobean Sideboard, but I thought about it today and I thought I’d share. I had fun building up multiple layers of paint and then sanding them back off to create an old world layered finish. Then, I dry brushed a lighter gray almost white color on the raised details and then added a bit of glaze and then finally dry brushed black wax to shave those details and really make them pop by giving them depth and dimension. Fun fact, my staging wall was too small so I removed the screen from the window and stood outside on the porch to take my photo! Lucky for me, it was Spring in Virginia and not too chilly! ❤️👩🏻‍🎨

Vint Hill Vintage-Unique Furnishings

Vint Hill Vintage started after I moved to Northern Virginia all the way from Houston, Texas. I began painting furniture in Houston while managing two busy stores that sold Annie Sloan chalk paint, furniture and home decor. I have always had a love affair with interior design, having been a home stager for over a decade, and painting furniture seemed to dovetail nicely into my skillset. After life in Texas threw me a couple of curveballs, I picked myself up and dusted myself off, packed up my paint brushes, my beloved dog Sampson and a few of my belongings, and moved across the country to start a new life in the Virginia countryside with the man of my dreams. We got married and found a lovely home to settle into and I began to scour the beautiful countryside for treasures to breathe new life into for my own home and for others as well. It became a true passion of mine and Vint Hill Vintage was born. I truly believe some pieces are meant for paint and others just need a little polish, but all of my finds are exceptionally beautiful and each has its own story to tell.
