Sometimes, you just gotta pause on the work and have some fun getting creative.

This epoxy piece was one of those creative sessions for me. Since it wasn't a commissioned piece, I was able to let my own design inspirations take over without worrying about getting it *just right* for a customer.

It's good for my soul to create art pieces like this from time to time. What creative ideas do you think I should try the next time I get a chance to make some art?!

We got this gorgeous waterfall desk finished a while back. Made using the customer's own hickory wood. The river even has sand and "boulders" in the bottom of it to make it look like a real river! 😍 It was the first one I've made using that technique, but it turned out awesome! 😎

We've been quiet on here for far too long, but we've been busy! Check out one of the things we've been working on while we haven't been posting on facebook. 😆

This project has been a long time in the making and is *almost* complete, but it's already beautiful! Stay tuned for the final reveal! 👀

The Christmas meal. One of the most popular Christmas traditions. And for one of our customers, 2024's Christmas dinner will be one to remember.

This gorgeous dining room table will see its first of many family meals this Christmas, and we couldn't be more excited about it!

The table is made from the black walnut trees of the customer that were harvested from their own timber. We slabbed the logs, had them kiln dried by Johnson Hardwoods & Tree Care, worked them, and 3 years later, the finished table is 12 feet long, 55 inches wide, and features my newest design incorporating steam bent legs.

A piece that will last for generations to come, where the family will gather for many, many more Christmas dinners.

Thank you for your support of our small business and family. We truly appreciate it.

May the Lord bless you and yours in 2025! Merry Christmas!

We delivered this sofa table on Wednesday night, just in time for Thanksgiving celebrations.

It's made from the customer's own hickory wood and features a unique base with the crosses on each end.

The plan is to put a couple of bar stools on the back side of it for extra seating behind the couch in the living room.

I've not made many sofa tables, but I love how this one turned out!

This gorgeous table went to its forever home this week. The owner's built their retirement home recently and wanted a custom table to fit the space.

The table has some unique features:
▪️the ash wood came from the customers' homestead where they moved from
▪️the customers came to my shop to help me pour the epoxy
▪️the holes in the wood were left clear so grandkids could be seen playing underneath the table
▪️the finish is high gloss on the epoxy, and on the wood, it's a satin finish
▪️the table has two leaves, one for each end to extend the table an additional 3 feet

I loved working so closely with my customers to give them a piece so unique and sentimental to them! The table ties in just right with all the other beautiful features of their home. These pictures just don't do it justice.

We've been working on a little project recently.

Here's a sample of a flyer we're putting together to advertise our sanding services. The other side of the flyer will highlight our slab flattening services, but it's not done yet. 😊

It's the last day of the Clay County Fair!

We're in the Tower Gate Pavillion until 6 o'clock this evening.

We're thankful to be here, and it's always great to visit and catch up with everyone who takes the time to stop by our booth.

We're looking forward to the projects on the books for this next year!

This huge maple tree previously stood at one of my childhood homes. I have many fond memories of playing in that tree as a kid.

In May, the memories came full circle and I was able to salvage the trunk of the tree.

This past week I took it up to Albert City where my friend Chris, of Johnson Hardwoods (see link in the comments), helped me slab it out on his 76" Lucas Mill. We're guessing it's around 120 years old!

It wasn't in the best shape, but we were able to get 5 stunning slabs out of it. They will make beautiful furniture!

The sky's the limit really when it comes to custom woodwork.

It definitely helps when you have all this wood to choose from.

There's about 20,000 lbs. of wood on that trailer in the first picture and the slabs I'm standing behind in the next picture are 22 feet long! The third photo features a gorgeous slab of Iowa black walnut just waiting to find it's forever home.

One of the best things about my job is to be able to work closely with customers designing their dream pieces of furniture.

Need a 22' long conference table, I can do that. Need a black walnut bathroom vanity, I got it covered. Need a one-of-a-kind gun cabinet, I'm your guy.

If you can dream it, I can build it!

LITERALLY.

Give us a call and we'll get you on our schedule to make your dreams a reality.

We have some sad news. 📰

Unfortunately, we won't have a booth at the Iowa State Fair this year. 😔

We are bummed we won't be there, and we'll miss seeing and chatting with our repeat booth visitors, but the Lord was very obviously taking care of our family by not allowing us to be there.

In the meantime, if you need anything or just want to chat about your current hobby woodworking project, please don't hesitate to give us a call. ☎️

We hope to see you there again next year! 🎡🐖
