Underwood Fleet Services LLC, a locally owned and operated company, is currently looking for a full time Field Mechanic. The Field Mechanic will be responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing diesel and gas engines, Federal DOT Inspections, preventative maintenance, hydraulics, electrical, air and hydraulic brakes, etc. at client locations throughout Southwest Florida.
Major Responsibilities:
Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of: Engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, PTO's, electrical systems, HVAC systems, steering systems, brake systems and suspension systems (spring and air).
Perform all levels of preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and heavy and farm equipment.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years service and maintenance experience with a variety of gas and diesel equipment and vehicles.
Should have your own mechanic tools and the ability to safely and effectively use them.
Basic computer skills for data entry.
A valid driver's license.
Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
Ability to work a minimum of 5 days per week including Saturdays.
Must be able to pass a background check with no felony record and pass a drug screening.
Compensation and benefits:
Salary: $18 - $30 per hour depending upon experience
