🌟 Fear Tried to Rob Me—But Courage Had the Final Say 🌟

For years, I let fear sit in the driver's seat of my life. It held me back, whispered doubts, and convinced me that what I had to offer wasn’t enough. Fear robbed me of experiences, opportunities, and relationships—and even made me hesitate to share my wins.

Recently, I wrote about my journey with fear—how it became a constant companion and how I learned to recognize its tricks. I also discovered something profound: Fear has no physicality. While it might feel overwhelming, you can still walk through it. That’s what courage is all about—not the absence of fear, but the decision to move forward despite it.

Fear almost kept me from sharing something I’m incredibly proud of: my feature in Home & Style Magazine. But I realized that holding back doesn’t serve anyone.

In this blog post, I’m sharing my story, what fear taught me, and why I no longer let it dictate my actions. I hope it inspires you to reflect on what fear might be robbing you of—and to take the next step, no matter how small.

For the longest time, it was hard for me to go down into my office/studio and get to work. I thought it was the work itself—I even questioned whether I was being lazy.

We've come such a long way since opening the shop, October 2012. I’ve learned so much about myself and others along the way. It’s hard to believe I had the courage to open a brick-and-mortar, to put my skills out there for all to see. I was scared we wouldn’t get any vendors, but we put out the call, and they came. I worried we’d have no customers, but we designed the window, shared on Facebook, and Camerons spread the word. And they came.
It’s funny how I still face those same kinds of fears. You’d think they'd fade, but I’ve learned that there aren’t 'good' or 'bad' decisions—just opportunities to grow. Problems become possibilities, and the sky truly is the limit when you move forward one step at a time.
Thank you to the vendors who took a chance with us, the customers who came through our doors, and everyone who shared about us. My biggest thank you, to my kids and husband. You sacrificed so much for the shop to be open. And my husband Carroll, who literally pushed me into having a shop. You made it all possible.
