Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸
Our building was once Eby’s Hotel, lovingly known as Eby’s Corner to the locals. Today, we think of the young men of Quentin pictured here who gathered right outside our doors before heading off to fight in World War II. This building has long been a place of community and connection, and we are proud to be a small part of that long-standing tradition.
Our town itself carries a legacy of remembrance. Quentin was renamed from Bismarck in honor of Quentin Roosevelt, son of President Theodore Roosevelt, who gave his life in service in WWI. A memorial to this stands on the lawn of Quentin UCC...the brass plaque presented to the town as a thank you, along with the bell from the Quentin school, where the plaque and silver cup (also part of the presentation) were displayed for 65 years until the school was demolished.
Memorial Day is more than the start of summer… it’s a time to reflect on the sacrifices made for the freedoms we enjoy every day.
