2014 Lomo Collection
The Tinel-Console
Throughout the design and selection process for this initial collection, I went through several ideas that attempted to capture both my background in structural and pipe fabrication, and the finer details of classic furniture. This was the one piece that I felt really reflected me. It is a made from structural tubing and iron, and the welds are left exposed. This allows the frame to appear as if it was salvaged from the scrapyard. The combination of the stone, brass and steel, gives the piece some depth and adds a little character. The brass crossbar is supported by solid steel finials and sit in a recessed pocket on the outer face of the legs. The distinguishing design of the frame is what makes this piece unique in the collection as a whole. It is unbalanced and slightly abstract. It softens a masculine piece, and adds a playful element to it. The Limestone top finishes the piece off with a more refined touch. It makes a somewhat, "rough around the edges" piece, a little more graceful and sleek. The materials work together to bring the piece into the pallette of the line. The steel is blued and naturally weathered, and the brass is left unlaquered to allow slight tarnishing over time. It is designed to be strong enough to make a statement, and refined enough to be complimentary in any space.
As this piece is a dubstantial in size and weight; there are hidden brackets that are optional for wall mount support to prevent accidental tipping
