I HATE PAINTING! I have been out of work for a couple of months on disability. My wife thought, knowing I hate doing nothing more than anything, it would be a good time to paint the cabinets. The upside, I get to spend time in my shop until I can source another table saw. That is about the only positive thing about painting cabinets with one fully functional hand. They are looking pretty good. I am sanding, priming, and putting three coats of paint. Hopefully this will be the last time I paint cabinets for a long time.

Well, it finally happened. It took 20 years, but I finally got to wrestle a table saw. It was a losing battle that lasted less than a second. I still have my thumb, although it doesn't move and is completely numb from the knuckle up. Surgery in two days to try and correct both those issues. Just a reminder that safety is constantly needed. A split second of brain fog resulted in a $23k doctor bill and three months of PT. Stay safe out there. My first major injury in the shop, and hopefully my last.

Update- Thanks to all for the prayers. An amazing doctor, technology I can't even imagine, and God's grace has given me movement back. I will probably not get feeling back in the pad of my thumb, but that will have to be the price I pay. It should have been much worse. I will be back in the shop soon, but I am replacing the table saw. I need one with at least some safety measures in place. Thanks again, and remember to respect the tools you use, they are wonderfully helpful when you do and terribly dangerous when you don't.

Another project almost complete. I need to seal it so guests can write in it without bleeding through, but I think it turned out awesome. Oh the things you can do when it is a rainy Tuesday and your tools are scattered across several projects.😃🤣

I was asked if I could make some coasters blanks for a customer's son to sell at a craft fair. I am using my chop saw at another project today so decided to play with the engraver this morning. I think he can sell these.

I got to the last beam and broke my last sharp blade. Waiting on new ones to finish the last cut and get this order out the door, and out of my yard. Waiting to hear what to do with the white oak logs before I start cutting anything else.

I get the last project out of the shop and find this in my front yard. It looks like the mill will be busy for the next little bit. Some of these logs will need to be whittled down before the mill will even cut them. I am glad for the work and the little extra money never hurts. This is going to be fun.

Finishing up the hardest project so far. It should be the easiest but anything this big with new ways of doing things has been a learning experience. Not sure how I feel about epoxy, and a new table saw and jointer are definitely needed to do anything like this again.

What do you do when there are too many projects in the shop, but your son requests a build for his girlfriends coffee business? You move the project to the garage. Hope to have it useable by the end of today and in service tomorrow.

Now that the kids have finished most of their projects, I felt the urge to start my own. I had several small things I pretended to start when a young couple asked if I could work on a walnut mantel for their new house. Live edge 4 inch thick, 12 inch deep, over 5 feet long. For the first time I am going to try epoxy to fill the voids, wish me luck, I don't have another piece like this one if it doesn't work. It already looks pretty amazing. This is still 17 inches across. First challenge, cut it down to 12 without the saw mill.
