This charming six drawer dresser, crafted by Bassett Furniture, is a show-stopper ready for its new home. A sold wood construction piece that is sure to become the focal point of any room. To enhance its aesthetic appeal, I applied two distinct colors of gel stains to add depth and texture, and I also updated the original pulls in a satin black color for a more modern twist. I left the vintage blue floral drawer liners installed for a pop of color 💙. The versatility of this dresser is truly exceptional, making it an ideal fit for various decor styles like French country, cottage, or even coastal. Each drawer is dovetailed and functions flawlessly. Measurements are 50” long, 18” deep, and 31” tall.

A beautiful black walnut wood dresser once covered with coats and coats of white paint, now ready to turn heads with its beautiful wood grain! This piece tested my patience to say the least. I spent well over 10 hours sanding and used so many products and tools to restore it to its original state. A true labor of love! Once all the old paint was removed, I used a dark walnut wood gel stain for a moody yet modern look. I also added all new solid brass pulls to really give it a classy look. Despite only having four drawers, this dresser offers tons of storage. The drawers are deep and wide and all work perfectly for its age! This piece is sure to be a focal point in ANY room and a guaranteed family heirloom. Measurements are 50” long, 23” deep, and 34.5” tall. 🤎

Progress Update:

I’m never fully refinishing a piece ever again. 🙃
The products I’ve used so far have been 2 quarts of high quality paint stripper, 2 quarts of acetone, 1 whole pack of 80 grit sandpaper, I new carbide paint stripping blade, 1 new wire brush, 1 putty scraper, at least 7 pairs of gloves, 10 hours of labor, and last (but certainly not least)….my sanity 🤣. And I’m only 3/4 finished with the body of the dresser!! However, I truly cannot wait to see how this piece turns out! This definitely won’t be my usual budget friendly piece, but it will be a show-stopping family heirloom once I’m finished! 🤎

My paint brush looks a little different today…

This piece caught my eye today at my local furniture resale store and when I opened the drawers and saw a beautiful, dark woodgrain…. I knew I had to get it! I’ve never fully restored a piece before but have always wanted to try it! And of course this piece has been painted three different times 🫠😑 so let’s all cross our fingers that the wood underneath is in perfect condition.
