Just the messenger on behalf of a friend of this worthy cause:
——
I’m hereby proclaiming August, “ADOPT MONKEY PIE MONTH” with my goal to find this amazing, goofy, loving, smart, athletic, adorably handsome guy his forever home by the end of the month!!
Monkey, has been in foster care since last October when Emily Nance first pulled him. For the gift of saving his life, he’s connected us in an awesome friendship! I’ve largely had Monkey since December, but the two of us have continued to work together in trying to find him the RIGHT* home.
Before I share, all of his wonderful qualities (additional posts to come), here are a few bonuses!!
🦴🧸 adopting monkey will include lots of toys that he loves to play with - he is excellent at entertaining himself. As well, his collar, leashes, harness, and other doggy items come with him too!!
💰because he’s been in the shelter system for over 100 days, his adoption is FREE, so you can keep your money and spend on other useful/fun things.
🎓as you can see Monkey has been in training! He’s a very quick learner and loves to “work”. His trainer has been impressed with his progress with each lesson. If there are lessons left in the prepaid package, they will be transferred to you!!
🤚🏻 While I can’t give Monkey a forever home, I have absolutely fallen in love with him. He has my heart 💗 and I’ve put my soul into making sure he will have the best life ever as he’s so deserving. If you are taking a trip, and I’m in town, no need to board him! I will gladly watch him as long as my schedule allows. (More money saved for those dinners/drinks on your vacay)
*The right home:
🏡 Monkey is still working on leash training, he would do best in a home with a yard! Eventually he will be an incredible running and/hiking partner, but still could use some work. He’s not an escape artist at all though! He will bark if the gate is open and not supposed to be - such a good boy!
👧👦 Monkey has done exceptionally well with kids. He’s a big guy and sometimes unaware of his size or strength, but instinctively has a great awareness that kids are different and he’s impressively calm around them. It would be important for parents and/or kids as he’s done best around dog savvy people.
🚫🐈 🐕🦺 I have a cat but I have kept them mostly separate as he will chase if given the chance. They’ve had interactions and I get the feeling he mostly just wants to play, but I wouldn’t risk it. Monkey has had both positive and negative interactions with other dogs. At some point he may be able to have doggy friends (I think he would actually love it) but since he is still mostly a puppy, having a home where he can have your full attention would be best.
