I’ll call these the million dollar nightstands because they cost me more in time and labor than what it’s worth 😂. After multiple problems including paint problems due to the cold (see last two pictures) I finally got these faux bamboo nightstands to work! So happy with how they turned out. Nice and smooth with a subtle satin sheen. Tricorn Black in the gallery series.

SOLD* These nightstands were given to me for free by a past customer. She got new nightstands and was kind enough to offer me her old ones. Fast forward to last week when she asked if these were her old ones and she wanted to buy them back! Updates made: removed old base and trim. Removed old hardware and filled in holes with bondo. Primed BIN. Painted gallery series in Tricorn Black. Added matte black hardware. Built a new base out of red oak and finished with a simple wax on the base. Added new trim to the bottom of nightstands to make it more polished. Caulked trim gaps. Added feet protectors. How’d they turn out?

Beautiful and one of a kind faux linen solid birch chest of drawers. A cheerful spring color of light green (solstice by ) was mixed with a glaze to achieve this look. Topcoated in a very durable flat water based poly. Originally the drawers would not close without lifting them up or banging into the other parts of the dresser. They now close easily. Drawers are very spacious and deep. Original base was sanded and given a new stain of Mist 5% to keep its charm. A perfect addition to a bedroom or entry way. Color goes well with everything. A lighter bed frame and some new carpet upgraded my friends guest room. She has the most gorgeous house surrounded by trees and a view of the water so everything got lightened up to match the mood of the rest of her house 💕

Oh Dixie faux bamboo. You gave me a lot of troubles. Missing a finial and shelves. A burnt through wood panel from the lightbulb. You tried hard to stay with me but I have to let you go. I promise the house you’re going to is nicer than mine 💚 Products used: Ripe Olive in emerald line. Bourbon on the shelves I made from an antique dining table.

We went to church this morning and had a Christmas program filled with beautiful music and testimonies of Christ. Then a friend came over and we ate a big Christmas Eve lunch of twice baked potatoes and steak! Christmas we can open presents and just spend time together. It’s just my little family together this year and I kind of like the relaxed vibe of it all.

Where’s my fairy godmother? I think it will have to be me! I haven’t made the plunge to buy yet because it’s expensive but I feel like once I save up for it I won’t regret it. What’s on your wishlist?
