Field's Used Furniture was established in 1973 by Helen and Leland Field. Both Helen and Leland were natives of Wayne County. The property where the shop stands is part of the Field farm and Helen and Leland once farmed it. Helen's father (Lorenzo White) built the front of the shop out of beams from the old Hawley stadium and the rest from wood from the Butler house (local), that had been dismantled.
