A total of 30 Alabama counties have been listed as primary natural disaster areas due to recent drought. They are: Barbour, Bullock, Butler, Chambers, Choctaw, Clarke, Coffee, Conecuh, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Elmore, Escambia, Geneva, Greene, Hale, Henry, Houston, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Monroe, Montgomery, Pike, Russell, Sumter, Tallapoosa, Washington and Wilcox counties. Twelve (12) additional counties were listed as contiguous disaster counties including Autauga, Baldwin, Bibb, Chilton, Clay, Coosa, Dallas, Mobile, Perry, Pickens, Randolph and Tuscaloosa counties.

This designation makes farm operators in primary and contiguous counties eligible for consideration for Farm Service Agency (FSA) emergency loan assistance, provided eligibility requirements are met.
