Mission Moment for Thursday.
Angela got all the recycling taken to the bin.
We picked up furniture in cville with the help of Drew and Donna. Thanks you guys. You are life savers.
Needed to pick more furniture. Did not have the number to call them. Looked online and my friends list, could not find her. The number we called was disconnected. I had help and a trailer so wanted to get it done today. Then I finally found her and and was going to send her a message. My computer would not let me. So I had to come home and send the message. Well, my desk top would not let me send a message either. So I used my ipad and sent a message and called her. No response. So I gave up and messaged my helpers that we would have to try another day.
I prepared a box of food for a woman with 6 kids for pick up tomorrow.
I pulled weeds around the building.
I had painters painting outside, looks pretty awesome.
Shifty`s donated several bags of cans.
An older lady and gentleman came in for a walker.
Stopped at Ace to get paint and stain for the deck. They always give a discount, thank you so much!
Delivered two fans to two ladies in C-ville.
Need volunteers to furnish lunch for our back to school project. We just have 3 days to fill.
A friend ordered markers and crayons and having them sent to us. Thank you Brenda!
I`m almost to the point where I need to go my friend`s cabin on the creek. Waiting on the weather.
Until next time: when you are thirsty, Jesus is the living water.

Mission Moment for Wednesday.
Only had two appointments today and one cancelled so it was a short day.
I gave an elderly gentleman a rollator, two pair of sweats, and some underwear.
But that does not mean I got the day off. From home I was a busy bee.
A friend sent a very nice donation for our back to school project, so I ordered some school supplies and trial size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotions for our back to school project. We could still use 24 ct. crayola crayons and washable crayola markers. I also ordered some leftover containers since we get so much prepared food donated.
I replaced filters in two of our 7 furnaces. Will check the others when I have time. 25x16x1 is the size of all except 2. If you have any extras.
Volunteers are lined up for back to school and lunches are covered except for July 29 and 30, and Aug. 3.
Been working on getting paint to get some outside painting done. I have found someone to do that for us for alot cheaper than some others.
They may also stain our back deck and do some inside painting.
Waiting on someone to clean the windows upstairs so we can get our new awnings installed.
Lunch Bunch is coming up. June 1-July 27. At the park. 11:30-12:30. We are not directly involved in that but we always buy fresh fruit for that event. It is Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
There is VBS in most churches. Ladoga Christian Church is June 8-12, 9-11 AM. Kick off is June 7, 5:30-7:30 PM. at the park. There will be games, food, crafts, and fun.
Until next time: Make sure you keep your eyes on Jesus during all the business of summer.

We had Hawaiian rolls, chips, hot dogs, several different salads, several different desserts including brownies, cookies, puddings, pies, and cakes. Fresh produce including lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, apples, carrots, oranges, and celery. There were also cheese sticks, boiled eggs, pop tarts, milk, and cereal bars.
Then we received tortillas, refried beans, salsa, cheese, black beans, and rice from Trinity Life Missions.
A lady came in for shorts.
We got the van unloaded, things put away, organized all the food, then posted everything on Facebook. I have to say it is all gone but some carrots that are on the veggie table.
A single mom got a mattress, headboard, footboard, boxsprings and sheet set.
Jen and her daughters hung used clothes.
I straighten up the garage.
Do not forget our back to school concert on Aug. 11 at the park. More info to come.
I have my volunteers lined up for our back to school project. If you would like to provide lunch let me know.
So tired. When I got home, my yard had been mowed! Thank you Drew.

Wanted to let you know that the "fabric" they told me they were donating turned out to be tull and a vinyl like material that you would make a tablecloth with. Also, lining for black out curtains. It will be put in the cubbies a little at a time. Sorry, I was hoping for actual fabric.

Mission Moment for Wednesday.
We cleaned today. Bathrooms, toilets, sinks, mopped floors, swept the cubbies, cleaned windows.
We picked up a dining room table this afternoon. The people who donated it aslo have a sleeper sofa, love seat, and chair for us. We could not get it so we need two men and a trailer. If you could pick those up for us or know someone who can please let us know.
The dreaded couch that was in my van for three days because we could not lift it has found a new home.
Been shopping, and preparing for our Back To School Project. If you would like to know what we need just let me know and I will give you a list. It will be July 22-Aug. 4. This is for South Montgomery Students. If you or your church group or other organization would like to provide lunch, let me know that too and we will put you on the list. We have a special event for back to school. We will be having a concert at the Ladoga Park on Aug. 11, at 6:00. Angela`s twin sister and brother in law will be singing Christian music. They live in Florida and sing for a living. Bring a chair and maybe a fan and come join us for some back to school worship. This is for everyone. Maybe even pack yourself a picnic dinner and eat at the park.
We got the veggie tables ready for your extra garden produce. Feel free to put your garden veggies there and/or take what you need.
We received eggs also, we will be in the office tomorrow about 10-1, except for a trip to New Ross to pick up donated food from the post office.
Until next time: someone out there needs a smile from you.

Mission Moment for Tuesday.
This one is a long one so have a seat and enjoyl
So last week I went to pick up some furniture. One item was a couch which someone had already asked about. So I was just going to pick up the furniture and take the couch to her. I had made plans for someone to be there to help because it was very heavy. Well, it rained that day so I had to rearrange my entire schedule including contacting everyone involved. So I did not have the number to the woman I was delivering to because her caseworker had made the arrangements. So I could not call her to let her know I was not bringing the couch or that I was taking it the next day. I messaged the caseworker and she was out of town so did not answer. So I proceeded to pick up the furniture and take her the couch. She was not home. So I took the couch back to the mission and unloaded the other items by myself. Left the couch in the van. Then Walmart called and said to come Monday instead of Tuesday. So we headed to Walmart. When we got there they had a ton of stuff. So we packed the van as full as possible and had to take it to unload at the mission. While we were unloading a lady came out of the cubbies and asked if we had a couch. Well yes we do. She asked if we could deliver it and I said not today because we need the room for the Walmart donations. So I contacted two guys to come unload the couch so we would have room the the donations. We went back to Walmart and the items were not ready so we had to wait. Finally got the van loaded and unloaded at the mission. We had to sort tons of stuff, putting tons in the cubbies including fresh produce. So we had to get our veggies tables out, which were not ready, to put the produce on. Then we posted for everyone to come get what they wanted before it went bad.
Today we went to the post office to pick up the food from the food drive and to buy stamps. Well, they did not have any rolls of stamps. So we picked up the food. Then we headed to New Ross to pick up the food there and buy stamps. Well, they were closed.
So I had made up some plastic bottles to put water conditioner salt in them in the back of 4 of our toilets. I asked Angela where they were. She looked at me funny and said I think we threw them in the recycle dumpster. We had taken a van load of cardboard to the dumpster and she did not know I was saving them. So we went to the dumpster to find the bottles. She searched and searched. I went and got a step stool so she could reach inside. While we were dumpster diving a truck pulls up and asked if we wanted the chairs in the back of his truck. We said yes, just set them outside the door we will be back there soon.
We also received a commode and 15 doz. eggs that will available tomorrow. We sorted through the food donations and put them on the shelves. Thank you to everyone who donated.
Still going through Walmart donations which have to have to UPC symbol marked out and put away.
Someone came in for a fan and ac unit.
Everyone within a 25 mile radius was in the cubbies.
This morning first thing I noticed someone had poured chocolate milk all over the sidewalk outside the cubbies, which had to be cleaned up.
Our awnings have been removed so I called someone to clean our windows before the new ones are installed.
Had someone look at a little bit of painting we need done. Estimate is great, will be having them do that.
Went to the Baptist Church to look at furniture they had left from a yard sale. I have to call them back after we have 2 couches and a chair picked up so we have room for more.
Someone donated a set of glasses, I gave them a tour. Thanks Anita.
Drew Dickerson fixed two toilets that needed some attention. Thank you Drew. My handy man broke his ankle so is out for another month.
Been shopping and preparing for our Back To School Project.
I was pulling weeds in my yard and must have gotten bitten by something. Right under my eye is very sore and swollen. Heck maybe I ran into a door, don`t remember.
That is all I can remember, I`m sure there is more. Like keeping the cubbies clean after they are ransacked. Answering the phone and making appointments for the rest of the week. Cleaning, etc.
This is the reason you need to call the mission and not send me messages. I go home to recover.
Until next time: serving the Lord is not always easy, but it is worth it.
