This customer had purchased these dining room chairs second hand. She wanted to use them in her dining room with her Duncan Phyfe dining table. The chairs had paint on them and the wood finish was in bad shape. She had the wood stripped and refinished and then brought them to me to do new seats. We helped her with fabric selection and we rebuilt the seats. The fabric used was D1201 Beach by Charlotte Fabric. The photos don’t do the transformation justice but they really were brought back to life!

My customer just finished building a new home and had a mudroom/lounge room. We were tasked with making new cushions for the bench seats. She showed me pictures of the new space and the furniture she was using. She said she wanted a plaid fabric for the cushions. I provided her with many samples and made a couple of recommendations. She chose D3541 Barnwood from Charlotte Fabrics. I recommended using a cording color that matched the leather in her chairs. So we went with V778 Saddle also from Charlotte Fabrics. I have used this plaid fabric before and I love working with it. The room looks amazing!

Currently out of town, moving my mom into assisted living. The following projects are a bit late in posting.

This customer had 2 projects that we completed for her. First were 8 white bar stools. They had an older vinyl on them that was starting to peel. We ordered a heavy grade vinyl to recover them in. They get a ton of use and are ready for many more use.

Second project was a master bedroom headboard. It was originally in a black alligator, print leather. The decorative animal print was peeling and making a mess. We replaced the fabric with a cream animal print chenille. Instead of decorative nail heads we added a double welt cord. The fabric used was D3768 Cream by Charlotte Fabrics. This transformation really brights up the bedroom.

This customer just had her first grandbaby and wanted to renew this older Bassett, rocking chair. She is proudly going to be rocking the new addition in it. I just love this fabric! Pictures don’t do it justice. This fabric was originally for a personal project. Then I moved and sold the sofa. My customers get to benefit from its beauty now! I cleaned the wood and freshened it with beeswax. Made a few minor repairs, added all new padding and fabric. This heirloom will continue to bring joy for more generations.

So I get asked a lot to restuff/refluff cushions for chairs & sofas. Once I send an estimate, I usually get the comment, “why is this so expensive, it’s just a cushion?” Yes it is a cushion. But to prevent the padding from collecting at the bottom of the cushion, you need to put a baffle in the top ⅓ of the cushion. This will keep the padding at the top, so it doesn’t migrate to the bottom. In order to make sure the new padding fits the existing cover, I make a template. Then cut everything out of muslin, sew it together, restuff it and finally hand stitch the last opening closed. Here are some picture of today’s cushion!

This recliner was originally done in leather. Over time oils from your skin will affect its performance. We redid this one in a durable fabric! Came out brand new! Should have plenty more years to be enjoyed! We used Charlotte Fabric Y1125 Brick

I have been dreading having to make this post. After February I will have to close down my shop for a couple months. I have a parent that needs me to help transition her into assisted living. I also have to have surgery on my elbow, which requires at least a month for rehab. I hope this down time won’t be to long and I can get back to helping your furniture have a new life!

This customer wanted a custom skirt for her granite vanity. We had to engineer how to keep the Velcro attached to the granite and then how to make the pleated skirt to the idea she wanted. She is very happy and it brightens the bathroom.

First job of the year done and delivered! This ottoman was a unique shape and very well made! The customer loves the color blue and we found a fabric that complimented the other blue items in her home. Lots of planning went into building the skirt and laying out the button tufting. I also simplified the banding from 2 rows to 1. The blue floral is the before. I used CB700-81 from Charlotte Fabrics
