He was beaten and whipped with slashes deep and wide on his back. Then his hands were tied to a cross that was placed on his back. He was forced to carry this cross up the mountain to the place they thought would be his ending. Nails driven through the palms of his hands and feet with a crown of thorns on his head. Lifted in to place he was left to die hanging there with no food or water as the crowds grew to witness it. After his death he was lowered and cut free from the cross he died on and placed in a tomb where a rock so big was placed in front of its opening no man could move it alone. Guards stood watch over thee tomb 24 hours a day, there was no way to escape. On the third day the tomb was opened and the man was gone, vanished as if he was never there. He was resurrected and was alive. He lived another 40 day until he ascended into heaven where he now awaits his return. His name is Jesus, the one who died on the cross for our sins so we wouldn’t have to. This is the reason we celebrate today.

Today I m reminded of John 3:16 “ For God so loved the world he gave his ONLY begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. “
