Making your own natural Easter egg dye is a fun way to teach your children about living sustainably. Have you tried it?

Ideas for achieving desired colors (when using white eggs):

•Blue: Blueberry or Hibiscus tea
•Pink: Shredded Beets
•Rich Yellow: Carrot or Turmeric
•Pale Green: Spinach

Ingredients: Choose fruits, veggies and herbs as your dye. Use 1 cup of a veggie or fruit per 1 cup water. For herbs, like turmeric, you’ll need 2 to 3 tablespoons of the ground herb per cup of water.

Directions: Boil the dye material in the water for 15-20 minutes, until the liquid is a few shades darker than your intended final color, strain the solids and then chill the dye. Chill the strained liquid, add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, and you’re ready to go! Dip a hard boiled egg into the dye and let rest until the desired color is achieved.

Light is setting your energy rhythm—whether you realize it or not.

Light directly controls your circadian rhythm, the internal clock that regulates alertness, hormone release, body temperature, and sleep.

Here’s why it matters:
☀️ Morning light boosts alertness and supports healthy cortisol levels
☀️ Just 10–20 minutes of outdoor light early in the day can improve your energy and focus
🌙 Evening light (especially from screens) can suppress melatonin and disrupt sleep—leading to lower energy the next day

Simple shifts that help:
• Get natural light within 30 minutes of waking
• Dim lights and reduce screens after sunset

Your brain uses light as a timing signal. When that signal is clear, energy follows.

💤 Is it time to consider a sleep divorce?
Some couples find that sleeping in separate beds can lead to improved rest and stronger relationships. Whether it's a noisy snorer, mismatched schedules, or a disagreement on the best temperature for sleeping ... many of us have been there.

Sleeping in different rooms is not about distance, it's about prioritizing quality sleep so you can be healthy, well rested, and productive together during waking hours.

Have you ever considered a sleep divorce? Share your thoughts! And see more of ours in our recent blog here: https://www.mygreenmattress.com/blog/what-is-sleep-divorce-what-are-the-pros-and-cons/

Clutter in your home could be affecting your sleep more than you realize.

Your brain doesn’t “turn off” just because you’re ready for bed. It’s still processing everything in your environment—including the visual noise around you.

That pile on the dresser. 📚
The overfilled nightstand. 🧺
The clothes waiting to be put away. 👕👚

Even if you’re not thinking about them, your brain is.

Studies show clutter can increase stress and make it harder to fully relax, which is exactly what your body needs to fall and stay asleep.

A few simple shifts for better sleep:
• Clear off your nightstand (keep only essentials)
• Remove piles from your bedroom floor or chair
• Keep surfaces calm and minimal

You don’t need a perfect home.
Just a more peaceful one with less clutter, especially where you sleep.

Spring cleaning isn’t just for organizing your cabinets and closets—your mattress deserves some love too!

We spend nearly a third of our lives in bed, so keeping your mattress clean is important to better sleep and overall health. Here's how to give your mattress the deep clean it needs:

• Vacuum your mattress to remove dust and allergens.
• Air it out by placing it outdoors or near an open window to let fresh air and sunlight work their magic.
• Spot clean stains with a gentle solution of vinegar and water
• Protect it with a washable mattress protector to keep it dry and free from stains.

Spring is just around the corner and you might be looking forward to a fresh start. But, longer days, fuller calendars, more activity can leave you feeling tired, foggy, and overstimulated.

That’s not a motivation problem. It’s a nervous system adjustment.

Your body spent the winter months adapting to lower light, less movement, and slower rhythms. When spring suddenly speeds everything up, your system doesn’t instantly catch up.

👉 Read our latest blog to learn what’s really happening in your body and mind as the seasons change, and learn ways to support an easier, more natural transition. https://www.mygreenmattress.com/blog/spring-training-for-your-nervous-system-how-to-shift-out-of-winter-mode/

🌎 Celebrate World Sleep Day with Quality Sleep Shop and My Green Mattress!

This year’s theme, “Sleep Well, Live Better,” reflects something we believe deeply: quality sleep is one of the most powerful foundations for better health, energy, and overall well-being.

When you sleep well, your body is doing critical work:

Strengthening memory and learning
Clearing waste from the brain
Supporting immune function
Repairing cells and restoring energy

But when sleep suffers, so does your health.

Poor sleep has been linked to obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cognitive decline, and weakened immunity. It can also slow reaction time and impair judgment — in ways similar to alcohol intoxication.

In other words: sleep isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity.

Daylight Saving Time starts next Sunday ⏰

We’re springing forward, which means losing one hour of sleep. And if you have little ones at home, the whole family will feel it.

Here’s how to ease the transition:
✨ Start 3–5 days early
Move bedtime earlier by 10–15 minutes each night. Small shifts are easier on your internal clock.

✨ Prioritize morning light
Open the blinds right away or head outside after breakfast. Morning light helps reset your circadian rhythm.

✨ Keep evenings calm and dim
Lower lights, avoid stimulating play and screens before bed, and stick to your usual wind-down routine.

✨ Protect naps
If you've got kids who take naps - keep their naps consistent, but avoid letting them run too long to “make up” for lost sleep.

Most adults and kids adjust within a few days when you stay steady with the new schedule.

Why Do I Feel Sluggish in Winter? The Link Between Sleep and Full-Body Fatigue

You might still be sleeping 8 hours — but winter can quietly reduce deep sleep, which is what actually restores energy.

Less daylight, indoor heating, heavier bedding, dry air, and routine changes can all lead to lighter, more fragmented sleep (even if you don’t remember waking).

When deep sleep drops, you feel it:

• Lingering fatigue
• Heavy mornings
• Lower resilience

Sleeping longer won’t fix it. Sleeping deeper will.
Keep your room cool, maintain airflow, use breathable layers, and protect your routine.
Better deep sleep = better winter energy.
