The flowers on the back were the only six blocks that had been appliquéd when I found them. And I was going to buy muslin for the back, but realized this old striped mattress cover I had saved last summer would work fine.

Hey! The orphan block rescue mission has reached a milestone. Quilt top finished.

I found these brown-eyed Susan blocks for three bucks last summer. Dirty, stained, and basted/prepped- but not appliquéd. Challenge accepted. There were 37 blocks (six had been finished, but I’ll save those for the back). I added a green frame using a stained linen tablecloth, with skinny yellow strips from a linen napkin.

It’s not spring yet, btw.

Who doesn’t love a new set of potholders? I modeled these after the pair I made over the summer, and I fell in love with the functionality of them.

For this batch, I’ve printed a hemlock branch and a snowflake ornament onto a repurposed cotton slipcover. The little tied knots add just a smidge of extra grip, and the multiple layers of washed wool sweaters act as natural insulation. Even the hanging loops are repurposed from clothing!
