“they’re afraid to order it because they’re worried it might be junk“ This is one of the strangest things about furniture shopping today.
People find an unbelievably cheap piece of furniture online… but they’re afraid to order it because they’re worried it might be junk.
So they come into a furniture store, find something they can actually sit on, touch, inspect and feel confident buying…
Then ask why it doesn’t cost the same as the one they were afraid to order. 😅
That’s the part that doesn’t always compute.
Furniture that looks similar in a picture isn’t necessarily the same product. Frames, cushions, fabrics, mechanisms, warranties, where it’s made and how long it’s designed to last can all be dramatically different.
And sometimes the inexpensive option IS the right choice. There’s nothing wrong with that.
But price alone doesn’t tell you whether two pieces of furniture are actually comparable.
Before asking, “Why does this one cost more?”
Try asking:
“What am I getting for the extra money?”
That’s usually a much better place to start.
