Fox Contractors Inc. Professional carpentry and shop built wood products Looking for someone to deal with the Carpentry needs of your home or business?

We've evolved over nearly 40 years with various firms in the Tidewater area, and since 1996 with the founding of Fox Contractors. While we deal most often with interior work such as kitchens and millwork, our scope includes exterior decks, trim and virtually any wood product. We're small on purpose - so that your needs are met by carpenters rather than a sales department.

I'd like to endorse the services of Virginia Beach BizCards for doing such a fine job on our new, well, bizcards. And they kept the enduring logo that Jeanne created so long ago. First rate.

It is the busy season! Here we have a kitchen that sprung a leak at the sink, flooding floor and base cabinets and no doubt causing the homeowners insurance company to clap their hands in glee. Now the owner can afford new granite tops and the insurance company is so very grateful . . .

I didn't take any "befores", but bare studs and rafters in an attic? Everybody seen em. So we cut an access to a space that slopes from 6 feet to 4, dry walled and paint and trim and stuff. If I'm real careful I don't concussion myself on the ceiling once an hour. Marks up the product, you see.

A chaos of extra/scrap sapele mahogany, it must go! Machine, glue and clamp and plane and sand and . . well eventually it turns into something. I make up a few of these every year when the scrap pile gets too deep.

We were very happy to fabricate this latest project, shown here in the shop (with shop dog Sam!) and a hasty picture at the owners home. It's a desk, a bookcase and a fish tank house. Perhaps we'll manage a final photo when it's all setup.

A new fireplace treatment, before and after. This was actually an idea taken from a somewhat blurry text message picture, fabricated in the shop and installed at the customers house. The burning world of Pinterest again.

Here's a little before/after. The original idea was to add a dishwasher to an existing kitchen, but then! Expand the island to double the storage space and make space for stools, make new countertops and new vinyl flooring. It's like Pinterest gone wild!
