Now that she is finished, it seems so mean to call this piece “the beast” but this is, by far, the largest item in the store. There are so many hand hewn features it is difficult to list them all! You will want to take note of the hand carved panels on the doors and corners, and the breathtaking stained glass insert up top. Each shelf has a plate rail and behind each door are two shelves. Four middle drawers offer additional storage.
In discussing this with another antique lover, we decided this was likely a number of used pieces put together to build this beauty. You will note two styles of vintage hardware. The dark wood is so freaking hard I could not get ANY of the screws in by myself. I just didn’t have the strength. I think a much softer wood was used for the top shelves, and I think the lighter, carved parts are oak. It is an amazing example of American craftsmanship. These are my most favorite colors! A family of wall art in aqua blue and other blue-green colors. How about the two hand made “pour” paintings? And the tea light sconce has a tiny reflective mosaic. The large 16x20 piece has tiny little pebbles in the same colors.
So pretty!
