We’re back as promised with more pictures of this breathtaking project in Westchester, New York where the theme is “arches” ⤴️⤵️ This kitchen and dining nook project has some astoundingly unique pieces in it (which you know are our favorites). The dining nook with a steel and oak bookshelf, the tambour faces, the micro shaker elements: designer had an amazing vision for this space that we were honored to help bring to life! Bonus points to anyone who can guess where the refrigerator lives...

Team Rowan has been heads-down since the end of last year finishing up some very exciting projects across New York. Some of these are so massive, it’s been years from design to completion. Because we’re nothing if not folks that pay *ahem* attention to detail, we don’t usually show “progress” shots. But we didn’t think it was fair to make y’all wait any longer, so here’s some sneak peeks at “Village Arches,” which we’re on site photographing today. From arched reeded glass to solid tambour detailing to custom micro Shaker details, this was an epic creative collaboration with interior designer . This is one uniquely inspiring kitchen, and we can’t wait to show you ’s photos of this beautiful space. How’s green wood season treating you? Let us know what you’re working on in the comments!

Brooklyn living at its best! Throwing it back to this Clinton Hill Townhouse that is fit for cat royalty. 😻 We hid a clever cat feeding station and a pine scratching post into the kitchen island, so the heads of the household have integrated access without disrupting the impeccable style. And for the humans? A ::massive:: bookcase custom built to house a variety of treasures (art, a bar, and a favorite record player) that is so tall it needs its own rolling ladder to make everything easily accessible. 🪜 Team Rowan also did the kitchen, bookcase, and two entry doors in this beauty.

Team Rowan is busy as ever, with metric tonnes of exciting projects to share with you soon! In the meantime we’re thinking back fondly to our “Quarry house” project, a physical media collector’s dream-come-true. 💿 🎧📻Featuring a sequenced walnut built-in storage unit, we also built and installed wall paneling with custom storage for vinyl records. And because we couldn’t stop ourselves, we added integrated custom wood pulls. The perfect place to hunker down on a snowy Winter morning with your favorite album and warm beverage. In addition to the built-in shelving and storage, Team Rowan designed, built, and installed cabinetry in the kitchen & pantry, office, bedroom wardrobes. We added teak bathroom vanities, wall paneling, and privacy screens to elevate every corner of this Hudson Valley gem.

Team Rowan wishes you and yours a healthy and warm new year! With community and teamwork taking the wheel in 2025, we were able to accomplish some **huge** projects...stay tuned for more soon! We made it through this year - and every up, down, and around it held - thanks in no small part to our community of woodworkers, artists, creators, caretakers, and (r)evolutionaries. Today is Trans Day of Remembrance, an annual observation that honors the lives of our transgender siblings whose lives were stolen by gender violence. In 2025, at least 367 of our trans and gender expansive siblings have been killed because of their identity and expression. We recognize the privilege that the Rowan Woodwork team has to be our full selves - at home and at work and in society. And we continue to act for a world in which all of us have this right. To our trans siblings taken from us throughout history, and the trans women of color who have led the way: we remember you. We honor you. We act for you.

Tonight we will be at to process, grieve, and connect in the warmth of community around the fire pits. We’ll be using wood shavings to release what no longer serves us to the fire, and building a vision of what we want to keep close as we head into winter. Allies welcome - more info at
