Before and After!

Our most recent maple vanity project was actually just one part of this entire bathroom remodel on a budget.

We did nearly everything, including shiplap walls and trim work. The nifty hex tile work was the only outsourced labor.

I’m a big fan of the KOHLER x Studio McGee brass faucet, and their brushed gold Essential round mirror. They really set off the bathroom to give it an upscale feel.

I also love the Cascade Iron Co. towel racks and shelf brackets, which help to contrast nicely with the brass hardware elsewhere in the bathroom.

I don’t know that we’re committing to adding full remodels to our furniture building services, but who knows…this was kinda fun!

Latest project completed: Hard White Maple Bathroom Vanity.

I designed this as a simple, functional vanity with just a touch of class in the tapered furniture-style legs.

Maple was chosen for its light color and subtle beauty to contrast with the dark wall color. It was finished in my favorite Natura Onecoat natural finish. Just a little bling was added through the satin brass hortonbrasses. pulls and hinges.

Rustic Live Edge Texas Walnut Bench. These wonderful clients wanted a rustic bench for their entryway. I think the rustic look was definitely achieved, but I couldn’t help but add a furniture makers touch, with the through mortise and tenon joints for the lower leg brace. Also…look at this stunning walnut slab from our friends at Texas Grown Wood. Phenomenal grain swirls and contrasting colors, along with some nifty (and sharp!!) walnut burls which I sanded down a little.

Another small project complete as of yesterday! Made a small set of steps and handrails for safer entry into the Samaritan's Purse disaster response trailer. My garage shop has too much stuff in it right now, so the driveway was the workshop 😜.

Best cold brew for my morning pick me up from blueroancoffee and a carafe for the amazing team at grapejuicekerrville who is working around the clock to serve first responders food.

Then it’s off to the samaritanspurse site at Kerrville Bible Church to assess some more steps that need to be constructed!

Welp…it’s not furniture, but it’s something. I was so happy to be able to help with this flooding response in some small way…and praise God I got to do it with my people from Samaritan's Purse!

Late night delivery yesterday of some wooden steps for the shower trailer that volunteers will use. Nothing in the Hill Country is level, so we do what we must! 🤣

After a long hiatus, I’m back at it! Starting work on a Black Walnut buffet table.

I was blessed by my father-in-law with this lightly used milwaukeetool miter saw. It cut through these 8/4 pieces of walnut like butter.
