As an employee-owned company, Plymold takes pride in supporting our communities and the families who help shape our success. One way we give back is through the Pete Ackerman Memorial Scholarship, awarded annually to two exceptional students: one who is the child or grandchild of a Plymold employee-owner, and one graduating from Kenyon-Wanamingo High School.

We’re excited to announce the 2025 scholarship recipients:
🎓 Ethan Weis – Child of a Plymold employee
🎓 Jack Vierling – Kenyon-Wanamingo High School student

Ethan has completed a wide variety of volunteer activities, including participating in the Trash Picnic, helping at a local food shelf, and volunteering through his church. He’s also donated tie blankets to the Ronald McDonald House and served as a volunteer referee for youth basketball. Ethan will attend Winona State University this fall to pursue a degree in Business or Finance, following his lifelong love for math and numbers.

Jack has been deeply involved in the Kenyon-Wanamingo community. He’s marched in the Memorial Day and Rose Day parades with the K-W band, volunteered at his church by helping with Sunday School and serving meals, and helped install the Field of Flags at Veterans Memorial Park in Kenyon. This fall, Jack will attend Rochester Community and Technical College, where he’ll explore opportunities in Finance and Business.

We're thrilled to officially welcome Aliyah Bakeberg to the Plymold team as our Design Intern for the summer! 🎉

Aliyah is studying Interior Design at Dunwoody College of Technology and brings a fresh perspective, creative energy, and a great attitude to our team. Since February, she’s been contributing part-time — and now we’re excited to have her on board full-time for the summer!

Over the coming months, Aliyah will be diving into furniture layouts, color boards, and a wide variety of design and marketing-driven projects. We can’t wait to see how her talents and ideas help shape our work.

Plymold takes immense pride in our commitment to the communities we live and work in. Today we hosted the City of Kenyon EDA meeting at our plant. After the meeting, we took the group on a tour that highlighted the many recent investments we've made in equipment that allows for new capabilities, significantly improved throughput, and productivity.

We look forward to continuing to strengthen our collaboration with the city of Kenyon.

Giving is at the root of the Plymold and we're grateful to be able to give back to the community that has been so good to us. Each year we award two scholarships, one to a graduate of the Kenyon-Wanamingo High School and the second to a child or grandchild of a Plymold employee-owner. Scholarships are awarded based on leadership and community involvement outside of scholastic activities.

This year we've renamed the scholarship in honor of Pete Ackerman. Pete was a long-time Plymold employee-owner and COO at the time of his unexpected passing in 2021. Applications are due April 23rd and are available to download at

Our employee-owned business was established from the philanthropic roots of our founder, Harold Nielsen, who sold his business to the employees who helped him grow it. Pete Ackerman was our COO and an employee owner at Plymold, he helped grow and shape....

On November 16th, Plymold hosted 21 high school students from the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf for a tour of our manufacturing facility. The objective was to give the students a better understanding of what a manufacturing career might look like. The tour was followed by a 45-minute Q&A session where 6 of Plymold's deaf employees fielded great questions from the students and shared their daily work activities and responsibilities as part of the Plymold Team. We look forward to growing our partnership with the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf in the years ahead. Thanks to everyone involved!
