Now I am building the traditional Maine Wooden Lobster Trap, just as the elders of the small town taught me over 30 years ago. Today, I still hold a Maine Commercial Lobster License and fish a small string of traps in the summer months. The Wooden Lobster Trap is all but extinct along the coast. I build new full and half size Wooden Lobster Traps for use in homes and business. Each trap is hand made on Native Maine red oak, with hand knit “heads” made of white nylon twine.
