My name is Jacqueline A. (Nollet) Caster. I have been designing kitchens and bathrooms since 1982. My first experience designing was with a custom cabinet maker located in the Catskill Mountain area. He was an experienced craftsman with a certification in Corian counter tops and a fabrication workshop. Corian was the best of the best back then, and I was introduced to the solid surface fabrication process. I worked with clients designing and selling custom made and semi custom cabinetry. My designing was primarily for remodels and renovations of modest country homes.
In the late 1980’s I moved to Hilton Head South Carolina where I continued my designing for an exclusive design company who specialized in imported custom cabinetry. I was a junior designer, designing from blue prints, doing on site measurements, hand drawing layouts and transcribing lists of cabinetry to foreign cabinet companies. I even got to work on the install teams. Here is where I learned hands on how to install cabinets, basic construction skills, how to read blue prints and design correctly for on site measurements. I sold cabinetry to clients, and became a link between the homeowner and contractor. I learned to speak both languages!
I returned to pursue my designing in Central NY with a national big box retail store in 2004. For 10 years I worked hard and enjoyed designing kitchens and bathrooms, solving customer problems, trained many co-workers , built contractor and local vendor relationships.
Four years ago, I left the big box experience to start my own design company. I began by designing from a home office, doing in home client consultations and I became a distributor of the Elkay cabinet line, Yorktowne.
