We had such a great time last week with our first Woodworking Essentials class of the year!
From cutting dovetails to assembling final pieces, there was a lot of hard work - but even more fun. Everyone walked away not only with a finished table, but with a whole new set of skills to build on.
Really looking forward to having this group back and continuing the journey together as we take things to the next level.

Another great week of “Woodworking Essentials”!! We had students from New Hampshire, Boston MA, The Netherlands, North Carolina, and Tennessee … such a fun group! Everyone did an outstanding job. Thank you Aubrey, Zach, Jacob, Joe, Joel, Hank, and Ellen.

Our first Woodworking Essentials Class was just a couple of weeks ago … we had such a great time! Thank you Brian, Sigan, Gill, and Jerry (not pictured). This is our most popular class. Here you’ll learn the “essentials” of making fine furniture. Everything from accurate layout, sawing and chiseling to a line, mortise and tenon and dovetail joinery, and sharpening and using hand tools.

Such a great week of carving! Students learned the fundamentals of carving elements for period furniture. We started out with a simple shell and progressed through fans, volutes, and a claw and ball foot.

We had a wonderful time last week building the chest on stand (celleret). Everyone did a great job! Just a bit of sanding and installing hardware and they will be ready for finishing. Thanks again Everyone!!

Just finished this Cellaret in walnut. Traditionally used to store and serve liquor. This also makes a great storage chest for a number of other articles. May even make a nice tool chest. A new take on a timeless piece. This blanket chest features some more modern elements … splayed feet and beveled moldings. Constructed with dovetails and a till to support the lid.
One wide cherry board ( ). No dye … natural color with tung oil and shellac.
This will be offered as a class in 2025. The blanket chest class has been my most popular advanced class. It is a great next step in building those hand tool skills.
