This is going to be a post unlike any other you have seen on this page but I think it needs to be said.
My wife Diane and I started this business with a mission statement of providing our community and the surrounding communities with a good product at the lowest prices we can offer. To provide convenience of shopping close to home with a hometown pride. We may not be open every day but as most small business owners do, we work our business every day.
It's come to my attention that there's a planned nation wide protest called May Day where people are asking you, for one day, not to shop, work or go to school because they want to send a message to the large companies. The right to protest is a beautiful thing that we have here in the greatest nation that has ever existed.
With that right to protest, as with all other rights guaranteed by the Constitution, there all also responsibilities.
All we ask is take some time to think about how your protest will affect your friends and neighbors of this small community. Friends and neighbors who may own a small business that provides a service to you.
The multi billion dollar corporations are not going to feel the affect of not patronizing their business for one day near as much as the small business owner. With our business the sale of one sofa or recliner could mean the difference whether we keep the doors open or have to close for good.
I encourage everyone to celebrate their rights that they have in our wonderful country but please be mindful of the small businesses that really depend on you for their survival.
Diane and I take so much pride in the fact that we can serve the community that we both grew up in. You're not just customers to us. You are and always will be much more than that.
