The 44' powercat has been drug out due to some issues with materials. So I finally got the plank of Teak to finish the repairs. First on the agenda tomorrow morning is the fabrication of another curved toe rail board. The owner has added on a couple of other projects, but the toe rail is the main priority. Can't wait to get this part of the job done!!

I mentioned the 52' Midnight Lace "Sirena" before. I've always wanted to work on one of these very unique yachts. Designed by Tom Fexas world renowned yacht designer. He was known for his innovative hull designs. This classic stood out amongst the rest. And now I'm getting to do a little restoration on one! Finally!

Got some new job updates and made some steady progress on the projects. Been sidetracked by defective material, backordered parts and some yearly shop maintenance. All these extra trials, tribulations and challenges I've been encountering lately has left me highly motivated to see them through. I'm so stoked to get back in the shop tomorrow. So here's what I've been up to. Starting with the 295 Mako...

Weekend update: It was a busy week with some triumphs and minor setbacks. Got the Teak cover boards fabricated and out to the boat. Two dry fit , then noticed when sanding the third had what's called a "check" in the middle of board. I'm thinking it was due to the drying process as this is unheard of with Teak. I could have cosmetically repaired it but decided it had to be redone as it was located right on a cleat. It was very upsetting to say the least.

On the Mako project got the rub rail, bow rail and refrigerator pulled. Ordered rub rail and have a guy coming out Wednesday to template swim platform for Seadek. I'm planning out a tackle center over the weekend to include kite fishing storage where the refrigerator was. Ready next week to make a lot more progress on the Mako.

And finally removed mast from a Midnight Lace to fabricate a new one. More later on the history of this unique classic that was designed and first one built right here in Stuart!

Getting these ready for install. This Teakwood will wreak havoc on cutting tools and abrasives. It's very expensive as well. No room for mistakes.

Been slacking on my updates! Custom cabinets complete! Had to wait for concrete countertops to get sealed before install. The customer and myself were totally stoked at the outcome. Plus installed all the refinished 40+ doors and drawers for the kitchen!

While waiting for some concrete tops to cure I managed to get out to a customers boat in the Marina yesterday that had an unfortunate mishap with a 74' Hatteras. I had replaced a teak cover board last year and refinished all the teak. So we're almost back to square one on this one.

Been in overdrive mode! Want to wish you all a belated happy holidays. I did get some cabinets installed. My customer added 40 doors and drawers from his kitchen to my paint queue. Managed to get 25 done before Christmas. Waiting for some concrete tops to cure before sealing and finishing the install.
