✨ Employee Spotlight: Meet Maria Hdz ✨

We’re so excited to welcome Maria to the team at Janesville Comfort Shoppe!

One of the things we’re especially excited about is that Maria is bilingual, which means she’ll be able to better assist and connect with our Spanish speaking customers. Being able to serve more families in our community in a way that feels comfortable and welcoming is such a huge asset, and we’re lucky to have her.

Maria is a fun-loving and delightful person who is already catching on very quickly! She’s a mom of three boys (including twin sons!), so life is never boring.

Outside of work, she loves cooking, baking, getting crafty, and taking nature walks. She also has her own lash business, Luxe Lashes.

A few fun facts about Maria:
✨ The funniest thing that’s happened to her lately? Someone guessed she was much younger than she actually is (and she was definitely not mad about that).
✨ When she was younger, she wanted to be an immigration lawyer.
✨ Favorite music: Country music all day, especially Ella Langley.
✨ Favorite TV show: Law & Order: SVU
✨ Traveler or homebody? These days a homebody.
✨ Favorite cartoon character: SpongeBob SquarePants

One of the highlights of our week is partnering with the Janesville School District and welcoming a couple of their transition students into our store each week.

These students are part of the 18–21 CHOICE Program, focused on building vocational and independent living skills as they prepare for what comes next beyond high school.

Aidan spends most of his time in our warehouse helping with everything from breaking down cardboard and unloading furniture trucks to assembling pieces by putting k***s on dressers and legs on chairs and tables, plus helping keep the warehouse clean and organized. He is such a hard, dependable worker.

Jameson works inside the store helping with filing, organizing, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. He also keeps our staff entertained with his amusing stories and fun personality.

It has been such a fun and rewarding partnership. We truly appreciate the extra help, but even more, we love being a small part of helping these students build confidence, work experience, and valuable life skills.

Thank you, Aiden and Jameson, for all of your hard work this year. It has been a wonderful school year, and we have loved having you as part of the Comfort Shop team.

We’re already looking forward to seeing which students we get to work with next year!
