The Smart Woman Securities (SWS) Cornell Chapter, Forté, and SWIB are proud to present a Virtual Trek with Oaktree Capital Management! The event will be held on Friday, November 5th, 2021 from 4:15-6:15 PM ET.

Learn about the Alternative Investments industry with professionals from Oaktree Capital on a virtual 2-hour learning session. Oaktree CEO, Jay Wintrob, will kick off the event with Q&A followed by investment professionals talking through case studies of investments from a variety of alternative investment strategies. Hear from professionals (including Cornell alums) across investment teams. The session will end with Q&A about recruiting and internships with analysts and associates. The SWS Fall Seminar Series is back! All undergraduate women interested in learning more about investing and finance are encouraged to apply and attend the 10-week seminar series. Upon completion of the series, attendees will become official members of Smart Woman Securities at Cornell. This is an opportunity to gain exposure to technical industry knowledge and investment skill sets often not available in introductory classes.

The Smart Woman Securities (SWS) Cornell Chapter is proud to present a Virtual Trek with Oaktree Capital Management, and we are excited to partner with the Society of Women in Business (SWIB) and Forte to host this event. The event will be held on Friday, October 23rd, 2020 from 3-5 PM EDT.

The event will be kicked off by an introduction and Q&A from Howard Marks, the co-founder and co-chairman of Oaktree Capital. The other sessions will include Introduction to Investment Management and Different Career Pathways Post College, The Recruitment Cycle and Preparing for Interviews and Case Studies, and Q&A with a panel of women.

We are excited to announce our partnership this term with the Personal Finance & Consulting Group at Harvard University in cohosting a 4-part series, Banking On Our Future. The purpose of the series is to support and empower students in navigating through their careers and improving financial literacy.

Banking On Our Future is a collaborative and continuous effort between universities across the country. With the diverse backgrounds of each speaker we host, we hope to educate, inspire, and pave new paths forward for students by bringing the power of connectivity to fast track student’s access to education resources during these unprecedented times.

As a reminder, the first event will be held TONIGHT Wednesday, Sept. 16th at 7PM EST and will be featuring the CEO of Moneythink, Joshua Lachs. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
