Here is a quick overview of our services. We do not cut down trees, haul logs off site, or remove stumps and roots. We mill onsite with a wood-mizer LT40. Preferred wood is no larger than 36" in diameter and no smaller than 16" in diameter. Ideal tree trunk sections are generally 8' in length. We cannot mill wood with decay

While we are onsite we will hang a banner for neighborhood awareness. Upo

n completion, we will do our best to remove all saw dust and leave minimal impact to the area. Please note that since we do not haul logs offsite to mill, accessibility is a key issue. If you have fence around the area with down trees, we will need to discuss temporary removal of a portion of the fence for access. Indy Urban Hardwood does not charge to mill and remove wood. In the event you want to keep any of the wood (raw or dried), we will negotiate a rate in advance. If you are in the market for custom furnishings utilizing wood from your land, we offer many design services as well. Founded in 2017 Indy Urban hardwood is one of Indianapolis best sources for kiln dried hardwood. All of our lumber is recycled and sourced from the local community. We are open to the public for wood sales and we also design, build and make custom furniture all over the greater Indianapolis area. We are open for business Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 to 430. Saturdays we are open from 10 to 2. Stop by and see us, send us a DM here, check our website, and send us a message there.

We were asked to make a driftwood chandelier for the new visitor center at as well as the counters and shelving. I literally cut the driftwood off the beach and carried it out about 1/2 a mile by hand. absolutely helped the entire way through thank you KIKI and LUKE!! I absolutely love the Lake Michigan area from Chicago all the way around to South Haven MI. To be a part of the only national park in Indiana is a real honor. All the materials used on this project were recycled from local Indiana hardwoods.

We have a fresh kiln load of new material for YOU the community. We don’t just make heirloom furniture here we also sell all this amazing lumber. Did you know almost all of our materials are recycled donated logs. Indianapolis has a real weird habit of mulching and burning most of what gets taken down inside the city limits. It’s our job to try to work with you the homeowner or property owner to try to save these trees.
Imagine Indiana was once a giant hardwood forest. Then it was mowed down for bean fields and cash crops. It’s been going on for so long now that many people have forgotten the intrinsic value of these beautiful trees. So they just let tree services and the city, mulch and burn everything in most cases. I guess that’s some food for thought. We’re here, Monday, Wednesday Friday 9-4:30 and Saturday 10-2 come see us and get some wood for your next project..

Dan How do we thank you as a city? How do we thank you as a friend and fellow artist? This Friday April 4th we all can by coming out to your solo show opening On my end it’s been with love and support and friendship going 20 years strong. Brother I’m so amazed at how talented you are. Top of your game as a mural painter, graphic artist, fine artist, illustrator, percussionist, graffiti artist and 9 other kinds of Frankenstein for they minds. You have helped get Indy up to speed over and over and over again. You have helped memorialize some of our local cultures brightest stars in a way that helps so many love, remember and honor what is most precious to us all. The actual time we get to spend together. Growing up 10 years apart and from the same high school. Shoutout Ben Davis, but cut from the very same cloth. Our art teacher Larry Hurt saved hundreds of kids just like he did for us. But when I found out you went through his doorways. I wanted to collab and help in any way I could. Thank you for being receptive to that notion. We have really done some cool things for the city this past 20 + years as a result of the mutual respect and willingness to work together. I will always be grateful for the many hours making art and culture to try and help uplift those around us. While hiding in the safety and calm for oneself that comes with the quiet solitary life of an artist. You literally helped shape the visual identity of this company when you brought Woody the beaver mural into fruition. Then you got the log truck out on its own with that amazing wooden paint scheme. All the while making all of this just look like another day or business as usual. That is the definition of cool in my book brother. Let all that stress go, enjoy this opening Friday this city literally owes you so much. Hopefully this show with Justin. As well as the upcoming piece that is doing about you. Will help our community understand as much as I do about your talent and impact around here. I could write a damn novel about the ground we covered for this place.

New inventory Burled California walnut cookies. These amazing pieces were saved by our like minded friends on the left coast they saw a 88 acre walnut orchard getting changed into an artichoke field. Then did the right thing ans saved these beauties. These are some really amazing pieces of lumber from the other side of the country. Kiln dried flattened and ready for pick up. Or you can commission us to make them into furniture that last several lifetimes. Come visit today and grab one to make a heirloom for your family for generations to come!
