By far my biggest project yet.

This table was truly a labor of love. My client wanted a farmhouse table, and due to their size of their breakfast room in their beautiful farmhouse, they needed something custom built to accommodate their family.

The table and matching bench were handmade by a local woodworker (Rita Cramer you are AWESOME) and came unfinished. I then got extremely lucky and found four antique ladder back chairs with rush seats in PERFECT condition.

Next came the distressing the table, some dings, dents, scratches, and sanding later it was starting to look old.

I was very careful with choosing a stain, pine can be tricky and can turn out with a yellow/orange tint if you are not careful. I luckily came across Tyger Paint Store in Indiana, PA that carried Zar products. I chose the stain Colonial Pine and a few coats later it turned out awesome. To keep true to the antique/farmhouse look I sealed the table with Zar's "Clear Antique Flat".

Painted the legs with my favorite and trust Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Pure White. I chose to switch it up a bit and poly over the AS Chalk Paint due to there being some awesome kiddos that will be sitting at this table, and I didn't see wax holding up that well. I can't forget the little touch of white to the bottom of the chairs, it totally pulls it all together. ❤️

Lightly distressed buffet in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Pure White with clear AS wax. I am SO glad that I managed to restore the existing hardware to its original glory, it makes the piece.
