Thanks to a very special customer for sharing these pics with us after her Thompson Heritage Woodworking custom shelves were installed in their new kitchen! We love when we are able to fulfill a special order for those who have a vision for what they want and appreciate “custom” and “quality” over the standard and cheaper made products. We know and understand people have budgets set on pieces and/or projects so when we are asked to make a custom piece or project, we really try to listen to the customers wants and our goal is to far exceed their expectations! These solid wood floating shelves really do make a statement in this space! Wow!

Here's a look at one of our Shaker style tables before it gets crated up to head off to Texas. The base is a green/black shade with some antiquing and a wipe of stain to give it some age, while the top is distressed maple with a coordinating stain.

It's been a bit since we've shared anything, but it certainly hasn't been due to a lack of activity. Here's a look at one of our other services -- full finish trim and millwork installation on a new build. This has been a fun project for a great client and we're really excited about how the finished product is coming together. Still plenty to do on this one, including cabinet crown, a house full of flooring and, base moulding, and a few more doors, but we're scheduling into the summer and would love to put that finishing touch on your project!

Sale! We find ourselves in the rare position of having a few extra ready-made pieces in the shop and we'd love to find homes for them!

The sitting bench is a smaller version of one of our most popular items. It's perfect for a mudroom, entryway or just about anywhere else. This one is black over red with a semi-gloss lacquer clear coat. Measures 36" wide, 12" deep and 16" tall. The 42" version of this bench sells in our Etsy shop for $259, but we've priced this one at $100 for our local Facebook friends.

The two footstools measure 16" wide, 9 1/2" deep and 9 1/2" tall. One is lightning rod blue with a butcher block top and the other is more of a navy blue with a red oak top that is stained to an ebony shade. Both are clear coated with a semi-gloss lacquer. The step stools sell in our Etsy shop for $85, but we've priced these both at $50 each for our local Facebook friends.

Let us know if you're interested in any of these items. Also, if you're interested in something similar, but need a specific size or color, we make these frequently throughout the year and can customize them to fit your needs.

A special day here in Imlay City as we put a piece of history back into place at the Imlay Township Cemetery. This cast iron gate was likely installed in the early 1900s and had seen better days when we took it out of the ground to restore it to its former glory. We removed all of the original paint before performing a variety of repairs to correct some damage and earlier on-the-fly fixes from years past. It then received a fresh paint job before it was ready to go back into place at a new location flanking the cemetery entrance in front of the township offices.

Coordinating the re-installation was a team effort and it wouldn't have been possible without assistance from everyone at the township offices. Special thanks to Chad Stoldt, Matt Elling and Steve Hoeksema for giving me a hand today with the lifting and securing of the gate. Also special thanks to Melanie Priehs and Carla Jepsen for their help in getting this project underway. History like this needs to be saved and their efforts helped make sure that this gate received the attention it deserved. Proud to be a part of preserving a part of our town's history.

We’re going to make another run of barn wood Christmas trees this year, so let us know if you’d like a few.

We have two styles, both are approximately 7 1/2” tall and 5 1/2” wide. They can stand up on their own for table top use or we can add a saw tooth hanger for wall display. These are $8 each or three for $20.

We’re located in Imlay City, but can also ship via USPS at the buyer’s expense.

Delivered this live edge coffee table today to one of our best customers. It’s a companion piece to the dining table we delivered a few months back and the maple slabs came from the same tree — nice to be able to have the continuity between the two pieces. We’re really happy with the finished product and most importantly, so is the customer!

Big upgrade in the shop this week as the Martin T-75 has finally arrived. This deal had many moving pieces in order to make it work from a space and timing perspective, but it has been well worth the effort. We’ll see how it goes once we start using it, but it sure seems like the perfect fit for our shop and should be the workhorse here for the foreseeable future. Need to get the dust collection routed, add a small outfeed table, and make a few small repairs, but this one was pretty much plug and play. Feeling incredibly blessed to own such a well engineered piece of machinery.
