Sometimes I write a custom poem to accompany a custom piece! This is the Rump-A-Dump-Stump... the poem tells the story.

The Rump-A-Dump-Stump Table

While fishing one day on the WV New,
I spied me a stump in the morning dew.
It was covered with mud and fishing line,
And I thought to myself, that has to be mine.

So I went to my truck and found me a saw,
And since it’s a stump and not very tall.
I had it cut free and boy was it stout,
And I felt it’s great weight as I packed it out.

And As I carried this massive stump,
I tripped on the trail and felt a big bump.
That bump was limb laid across my trail,
And guess what happened? That’s right, I fell.

And when I fell that stump hit my rib,
It did, I promise, I’m not telling a fib.
It fractured that thing, and for a minute I’s stuck.
It was all I could do, to get back to my truck.

But I got-er back and got-er home,
And started to dream of a design all my own.
With a tractor wheel from ole’ John Deere,
And glass on top made what ya see right here.

A beautiful table that’s not like another,
It will steal the show, and guess what brother...
Nobody has one, not even Trump!
Cause you got the only Rump-A Dump-Stump!

This beautiful Wormy Chestnut high-top table needs a home! Perfect for a breakfast area/game room/restaurant/business lobby/etc... Hours of epoxy work went into the base and top. My friend Jerrill Vance milled, sized and created domino joints for the base. I waited for months for just the right wood for the top. Finally, last week in Amish country Ohio, I sourced this beautiful 8/4 (2") wormy chestnut. My son Nate (Davenport Design Co) assisted me in jointing and gluing the top... after a little more epoxy, ton's of sanding, and 4 coats of satin poly... she's ready to go! PM me!
