Here is another fine-looking barrister that just came into the shop. It is by the Macey Company, well known for its barristers and related office furniture in the early 20th century. This one is mahogany and measures 34” across, 11.5” deep and 65.5” tall. Don’t forget, barristers are sectional pieces that break down for easy transport and that can be stacked in whatever order you prefer. They are useful, flexible pieces. This one has been completely refurbished and is priced at $985.

This lovely mahogany and walnut console table just arrived, and it’s just begging for a sofa to sit behind. At 58” long, before either of the drop leaves are extended, it offers a great area for buffet dining without being intrusive…just 14” deep in fact. It has three drawers, that elegant harp design on both ends and noteworthy inlay all the way around the top. Very nice! And priced at just $189.

Remembrances has always had a shelved wall devoted to vintage books on a wide variety of topics, from presidential biographies to history to classic fiction, including children’s books. And we try to keep a good selection of books pertaining to Maryland and Chesapeake history. The books below reflect topics of war, ecology, women’s rights, Maryland history, the airlines and a good old-fashioned ghost story, just in time for Halloween.

Just into the shop is this regal mahogany highboy, the piece of bedroom furniture guaranteed to have a Lot of storage space! This one has 9 drawers and measures 38” across, 18” deep and 78” tall. It breaks into two sections for easier transport.
