We are thrilled to be partnering with Visual Comfort & Co. on the L. Pearson Design Showcase House, a project that brings together exceptional design, craftsmanship, and some of the most respected brands in the industry.

Architectural lighting is one of the most important elements in a well-designed home. It shapes how a space feels long before anyone notices the furnishings. The right lighting highlights millwork, ceiling details, and texture, sets the mood from morning to evening, and establishes the scale and proportion of a room.

*A creative collaboration between L. Pearson Design and Visual Comfort, bringing together two brands that share an appreciation for timeless design, exceptional craftsmanship, and beautiful interiors.

The details I keep on my radar.

Golden yellow on custom upholstery. A chinoiserie cabinet that wakes up an entry. A marble edge chosen as carefully as the slab. Paneling that makes a room feel built. Drapery layered with sheers, stripes and trim.

Swipe through and save the ones you want to bring to your own home.

24 hours in Paris and my notes app filled faster than my camera roll.

It started on the street. Soft blue paint, carved moulding, a Murano chandelier glowing in a shop window. Color and texture were already doing the work before I stepped inside.

Then the fabric houses. Janssens & Janssens for haute couture textiles, plus a first look at the new Schumacher and Manuel Canovas collections. At Jim Thompson, the showroom manager pulled out wallpaper and drapery I am still thinking about. Pattern on pattern, trims with personality, color that moves.

Antiques came next, and the lighting stole the show. A great chandelier is the jewelry of a room.

Some inspiration can’t come from a screen. You have to stand in it, touch it, and carry it home to clients.

Merci, Paris. xo

The best rooms don’t feel like one era. They feel collected. A Victorian cast-iron fireplace set in modern marble. Classic millwork in high-gloss black. Green lacquer next to 100-year-old brick. The traditional piece brings the history, and the contemporary setting keeps it from feeling like a museum.

Our 5 rules for getting the mix right:
• Let the old piece be the star
• Keep the palette tight
• Give traditional profiles a modern finish
• Let hardware tell the story
• Frame the view
