We get these questions every day — here are real answers before you choose your countertops: 🏠
1. What’s the difference between granite, quartz, and quartzite?
Granite and quartzite are natural stone (every slab is unique). Quartz is engineered, so it’s more consistent in pattern and color.
2. Which one is the most durable?
Quartzite and granite are extremely durable and heat-resistant. Quartz is also strong, but more sensitive to high heat.
3. Do countertops stain easily?
Natural stone can stain if not sealed properly, but with the right sealing and care, it holds up really well. Quartz is non-porous, so it’s more stain-resistant.
4. What’s the best low-maintenance option?
Quartz is the easiest to maintain since it doesn’t require sealing. Granite and quartzite just need occasional sealing.
5. Can I put hot pans directly on it?
Granite and quartzite can handle heat better. Quartz can be damaged by direct heat, so we recommend using trivets.
6. How do I choose the right color?
Always look at the full slab in person. Samples don’t show movement, veining, or how it will look across your entire kitchen.
