Shout out to the humble yet versatile joinery biscuit. What I prefer about the Lamello biscuits over all the others I’ve tried is that they are super consistent. They aren’t too fat or too thin, not broken, not splintered. I just repacked this case of 1,000 and didn’t find one that was imperfect. Get the original, and it may change how you feel about your biscuit joiner.

“New” acquisition. Delta 28-203. It is in the basement shop, so it is now here forever. Where it will be for that eternity is another matter. Thanks to some dear friends who let me have this to use and maintain.

This is a very sweet, very small wood-bodied molding plane from Veritas. This is one of the items I got from a dear friend whose husband, a woodworker, recently passed away. She didn’t like his coffin flag case color, and asked me if I could make a new one. She had a really nice piece of red oak that was taken out from their door sill when they installed a new front door several years ago. I cut it into components, squared it up, and just finished the first glue-up. I used this plane on the edges of the red oak and it did really well. Direction is of course very important. Picture with a tape measure for scale.

I was planing with this nice Bailey’s number three when the handle split into two. Fortunately it was a very clean break. I haven’t done that before. So out came the epoxyand I was able to get it back together. I’m pretty proud of the tension I was able to get using two clamps clamps and a pencil. I had good squeeze out around the joint. The crack is gone almost completely. We’ll see how it works tomorrow.

First stage of the glue up on the TV table project. These legs are not going to be braced. The reason is I have to put this over an existing heater.
