From generation to generation, the Lezzer Family has been committed to philanthropy and generosity within the community. Penn Highlands Clearfield, a Campus of Penn Highlands DuBois, received a donation from the Lezzer family, to purchase a 3D mammography unit.
“Our dad and uncle always felt, that giving back to the community was very important to them, as it is to the entire Lezzer family now.” Dave Lezzer, President of Lezzer Lumber Co.
The state-of-the-art technology, now at Penn Highlands Clearfield, is the first line of defense in the fight against breast cancer. Early detection is the key to beating breast cancer, when caught in the early stages.
The first patient to use the 3D mammography unit was on November 3, 2022. Since then, more than 2,500 exams have been completed.
Recently the Lezzer Family, along with members of Women’s Imaging, Radiology, and other hospital employees at Penn Highlands Clearfield, got together to unveil the plaque, recognizing the gift made in honor of Kenneth and Maurice Lezzer.
The plaque is hung in the waiting room of the Women’s Imaging Department at Penn Highlands Clearfield. Pictured with the Lezzer Family Plaque: Mike, Dave, and K.C. Lezzer.
