Art Deco can feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be.

You don’t need to turn your home into a 1920s hotel lobby. Start with one room and ask three questions:

Do I want it to feel dramatic or elegant?

Where will the geometry come from?

Where will the shine come from?

That’s the key. Art Deco is not really about piling on expensive things. It’s about composition. It’s about knowing where the drama belongs, where the structure comes from, and where the polish shows up.

A deep green wall, a brass light fixture, a geometric mirror, a glossy vanity, a patterned rug—one or two intentional choices can bring the style into a room without overwhelming it.

The goal is not to copy Art Deco perfectly. The goal is to borrow its language: line, contrast, shine, shape, and confidence.

Thinking about painting your kitchen cabinets two colors?

It can be a great look, but the key is making the color change feel intentional. Islands, lower cabinets, pantry walls, hutches, coffee bars, and separate cabinet zones can all work beautifully. . . as long as the colors make sense with the rest of the kitchen.

Before you commit, think about your floors, counters, backsplash, appliances, hardware, and lighting. And always sample first. A color that looks perfect in one kitchen can feel completely different in yours.

Stop by your nearest RepcoLite and bring photos of your space. We’ll help you sort through the options and find cabinet colors that work together beautifully.

Now through May 25, RepcoLite Deck & Dock Wood Protector is 20% off in both oil- and water-based versions.

And if you’re planning to stain your deck, there’s one reason we recommend the oil-based version every year: it’s incredibly easy to work with.

Yes, it’s oil-based. And yes, that can sound intimidating. But for deck projects, that slower dry time is actually a huge advantage.

It gives the product more time to pe*****te into the wood, and that’s where deck coatings get most of their durability. It also gives you more time to work, which means fewer lap marks, fewer streaks, and better-looking results.

So even if you’re not the most experienced painter, oil-based Deck & Dock can help you get a great finish.

Stop by RepcoLite and we’ll help you choose the right product for your deck.

Now through May 25, RepcoLite Deck & Dock Wood Protector is 20% off in both oil- and water-based versions.

And honestly, the timing couldn’t be better. Spring is one of the best times to tackle a deck project.

The weather is mild, the wood has a better chance to stay dry, and your coating has more time to work into the surface before it dries. That means easier application, fewer lap marks, fewer streaks, and better-looking results.

Wait until June or July, and the heat can make the job tougher than it needs to be. When the sun is beating down and temperatures climb, products can dry too fast and become harder to work with.

So if your deck has been dry for about 48 hours, now may be the perfect window.

Stop by RepcoLite and we’ll help you get your deck ready for the season.

Art Deco doesn’t have to mean turning your home into a movie palace.

Start with three ingredients:

1) Shape. Art Deco loves geometry, repeated patterns, stepped forms, fan motifs, and clean lines.

2) Contrast. Light against dark. Gloss against matte. Soft upholstery against hard metal. Cream walls against black trim. Jewel tones against warm metallics.

3) Sheen. This may be the most overlooked part. Lacquer, mirror, glass, polished metal, smooth stone, sleek tile, and even the finish of your paint can all help create that Art Deco feeling.

So before you start buying décor, ask where those three ingredients will show up: shape, contrast, and shine.

That’s where the style really starts to come together.
